Anders Hogberg & Hilde G. Pedersen, Summer Ski Champions!

The last day of the competitions in Changbai Mountain has successfully come to its end. Today’s champions Hilde G. Pedersen from Norway and Anders Hogberg from Sweden can enjoy their victory, and with good conscience relax in the hot springs of Changbai Mountain, which is exactly what the skiers did after today’s competition.

On second place in the men’s final came last year’s, and yesterday’s winner Bjorn Lind.
With one gold medal and one silver medal each, both Anders and Bjorn ended up with a total of 180p, but since Anders was

faster than Bjorn in the qualifications both days, he is the 2008 Champion of the total Summer Ski Sprint.

Another Swede Gustav Berglund took today’s bronze medal, but in the total Gustav was placed number four, since Eligius Tambornino from Switzerland beat him with 1 point, and took the third place.

After the Norwegian star Hilde G. Pedersen in the women’s final came Mirva Rintala from Finland, and on third place Elodie Bourgeois-Pin from Switzerland. Hilde G. also won the total even though she missed the gold in yesterday’s competition.

It has been a very nice event however, of some reason the sun has been hiding behind the mountains in Changbai this weekend, and rain and snow have really made this weekend hard for the waxing chief, Rolf Haggstrom. However, he has done an excellent job with help from his assistants Hampus Norberg and August Sjoholm (that also took part in the Ski Sprint), and have really facilitated the skiing for all skiers involved.

Despite the weather conditions, the skiers seem satisfied with the tracks:
“It was snowing last night, and then it turned into rain this morning which actually made the tracks harder and much better than yesterday”, says Gustav Berglund that obviously liked the tracks today with his third place.

Result lists from today and the total will be uploaded shortly! In the meantime, see the top positions below…
